Virtual Programs This Week
Baltimore County Public Library has some great virtual programs coming up! Registration closes one hour before the start of each program. A valid email address is needed at registration to send a Zoom link to the program 30 minutes before scheduled start.

Story Tapestries with Ariana Ross
Saturday, July 11, 11 a.m.
Use your imagination as storyteller Ariana Ross takes audiences on a fun, interactive journey with stories.

Family Evening Read-Aloud
Monday, July 13, 7 p.m.
Enjoy a read-aloud of an award-winning book with the whole family, followed by a creative activity challenge.​

First Editions with John Fram
Tuesday, July 14, 7 p.m.
Join us as John Fram discusses his novel The Bright Lands and takes your questions. The Bright Lands is a combination of horror and suspense guaranteed to keep readers awake at night. The town of Bentley holds two things dear: its football and its secrets. But when star quarterback Dylan Whitley goes missing, an unremitting fear grips this remote corner of Texas. Dungeons & Dragons
Wednesday, July 15, 6:30 p.m.
Play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition with us over Zoom. Beginners and veterans welcome; the program is for adults. Pre-made characters and materials provided, though you are welcome to use your own dice and books.

Photography Challenge
Thursday, July 16, 11 a.m.
​Longtime photographer and retired Baltimore County Public School art teacher Eric DeVille guides this informal program for amateur photographers who want to explore ideas and techniques while learning from each other. There is a photography challenge each week and an opportunity for photographers to share images. Open to anyone interested in photography as a form of artistic communication and expression.

Weekly Life Drawing
Friday, July 17, 5 p.m.
Practice drawing the human figure in this virtual session. The instructor shares photographs to draw — from a series of short poses for warm up before going to a longer pose and finally cool down. Audio instruction and suggestions provided live throughout.​

Sit & Stitch
Saturday, July 18, 2 p.m.
​Join us online for a virtual needlework group. Bring your projects, conversation and questions. All skill levels and varieties of needlework welcome.

Register for Summer Reading Challange
Now through August 15, kids of all ages can use their imaginations to explore, learn, create and connect through books, virtual programs and activities to earn points for a chance to win valuable prizes during this year's Summer Reading Challenge. This year's challenge may look a little different with our branches closed due to the pandemic, but we are committed to providing all kids the same opportunities to learn while having fun, and to keep minds active and prepared for the next school year.

There are two ways to play.

This interactive game board that tracks your activity to earn badges for points and a chance to win prizes in weekly giveaways. Sign in to play online.

Complete a Paper Game Board

Summer Reading Challenge game boards are available through BCPS Schoology, or by curbside pickup at branches, in English (PDF) or Spanish (PDF).
