Some people think GP surgeries haven’t been open during the Covid-19 pandemic. At Haxby Group this couldn’t be further from the truth.
We’ve kept open our services, despite the challenges and even stayed open on bank holidays – including Easter and VE Day.

Our clinicians and patients have been talking on BBC Look North recently about how we're freeing up phone lines for vulnerable patients by using a new digital triage system. We were the first GP practice in the UK to use this technology.

New partnership

We’ve formed a new partnership with Central Healthcare, a Scarborough GP Practice. Our team will be providing support and mentoring to Central Healthcare to help it develop future resilience and improve services.

By partnering with us, the practice seeks to strengthen its services, improve recruitment and bring innovative patient care practices to Scarborough. 

Haxby Group GP Partner, Professor Michael Holmes, said: “This is a great opportunity for us and good news for Scarborough. We are really keen to start working with the team at Central Healthcare and learn from patients."  Full story here

 

Support from local companies

Everyone has pulled together to help the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic. We really want to thank the local companies who stepped in to help our home visiting team.

We were loaned four cars by local companies, thanks to Andy Brook-Dobson from bdb Financial who co-ordinated the effort.

The loan cars, which had been left redundant during the lock-down, were used by doctors and healthcare practitioners for doing home visits more safely for patients, themselves and their families. It meant they could carry their protective equipment and medical supplies between home visits to patients more safely and efficiently.

Order your repeat prescription

You can now order a repeat prescription and nominate a pharmacy to collect it from, via the NHS App.This means you can choose a pharmacy to have your repeat prescriptions sent to directly. So you don’t have to come into the surgery at all.
