Summer camp has begun at Word of Life Hungary, and it is certainly different! Last week the health authorities examined our camp and standards (we wrote ten pages of procedures!), and they everything was found in good order. The difference in WOL Hungary summer camp 2020 begins when parents bring their children to camp and do “drive-in registrations” from their car, greeted by our friendly staff wearing masks and gloves. Weather permitting, all programs and meetings are outside. Physical distancing is carefully practiced in dining rooms, dorms, and the Bubar Auditorium. And there is the perpetual handwashing, constant cleaning, and disinfecting of nearly everything imaginable. Approved medical personnel are always on campus and at the infirmary, that has been recently renovated. And staff and campers have their temperature checked daily. But kids do not change, and the Gospel does not change. These campers are having fun as well as making life-changing decisions! The first week we welcomed 107 children 7-12 years old, and then the second week there were 110 kids aged 10-14. So far, more than sixty campers have made public decisions to trust Christ, and another 35 have made decisions for dedication of life. God is keeping us safe, and our seven weeks of summer camp are completely full (by CV distancing standards). Please pray that God would continue to work and that many campers will turn to Christ and find Him as fully sufficient in their lives.

The last remaining dorm from the old communist era is now completely gone. Its demolition began more than a year ago, but the project was put on hold due in part to the corona virus situation. Work has begun again, the rusted frame and cement have been hauled away, and the site is ready for building a beautiful, new dorm. Architectural plans are being revised and completed and building permits will be applied for. We hope to be ready to begin building by the end of the year. We expect the cost to substantially increase, but the result will have a 20% increase in our Bible School and camp capacity – giving a place for 200 additional students, and more than 1750 campers over the next decade. Please pray for God’s provision!

• For five weeks of satellite day camps that began this week. They are held in partnership with local churches in various locations in Hungary. Pray for safety and for many to come to Christ.

• For Bible Institute enrollment and opening on October 3, 2020. Pray for permission to open, travel for students, and safety as we begin our academic year under unique circumstances.

• For the current budget gap that continues – that God would meet this need and allow our staff to return to full salary.

• For funding and successful completion of the new dorm construction.
