Featured Artist

Hodges Soileau
This week we are Spotlighting Our Lightchasers Featured Artist Hodges Soileau.
Throughout the years Hodges has fully supported our Lightchasers members by very generously sharing his time and many Artistic Talents with us.
Hodges can paint every subject matter with great passion and understanding of what he is rendering. His paintings include everything from landscapes, architecture, seascapes, animals, figures and portraits.
Just check out his website and you will be amazed at the quality and scope of his artwork to be seen there!!!

Hodges has provided free Painting  Demonstrations to the group every year and also has judged our Annual Members Shows.

He has been a participant in our Featured Artists Show every year and this year won 1st Prize for his painting titled "Tools of the Trade" as seen above. This painting was sold very quickly during the show to a fortunate Patron of the Arts.
Those of you who have taken workshops or attended Demos with him, know first hand what an excellent teacher he is.
He brings you to the next step with the best constructive critique, encouragement and humor!
A special testament to Hodge's skill as a teacher was demonstrated at his last Demo for the Lightchasers in January of this year, shown above.
Between 45 to 50 artists braved the chilly, cold weather weather at the North Jetty, Nokomis Beach, to watch  Hodges paint a beach scene of the walkway to the beach and the palm trees surrounding it. The cloudy skies with on and off spots of sunshine made this a lesson in "How to Plein Air Paint" no matter what the weather and lighting
conditions might be!

This year Hodges will be very generously donating a painting for our Annual Show Raffle Drawing in February 2021 Show.
Many Thanks to Hodge for his continued support over the past 10 years.

Hodge has provided us with photos of the amazing paintings he has been working on during this time of isolation and social distancing.
He has surely made the most of this time as seen in the images below.

Dear Family & Friends,  In these troubled times, we practice social distancing as we have been advised!  As we move forward, please keep yourselves safe and well…we will try to do the same!
