JUSTICE FOR BREONNA TAYLOR

When I first shared the above image online, a friend commented "Lol for a second I thought the subtitle of the sequel said 'Book of Regrets'" and... they're not wrong. I mean these were never good movies to begin with, but NT2 fumbled the original premise with a bunch of unnecessary character churn and just wasn't as much FUN. Not surprisingly, the third movie (which they signposted with all that "page 47" malarkey) is still in development hell.

In conclusion, everyone should see DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD, which is a legit well-made and clever movie despite being ostensibly "for kids" (yes, it is based on Dora the Explorer, but it's much more sophisticated than its source material). Also it centers people of color and respects Latinx culture and history, so.
Oh yeah, I'm still writing, too. My latest short story is up at Curious Fictions (FREE to subscribers, $1 otherwise, tips appreciated); I recently passed 300 fiction rejections and scribbled some thoughts about that on Patreon (FREE to patrons); and I'm still revising the fantasy novel--sponsor me in the Clarion West Write-a-thon to get weekly updates on that and more.

I've also started hosting a monthly online reading series for SFWA, aboard the airship Nebula. Our next event is on Thursday, July 23rd, with authors Tochi Onyebuchi and Bonnie Jo Stufflebeam. (If you're not already registered for the Nebula Conference, you can do it now and get access to a whole bunch of archived content plus upcoming online events.)

And that's where we are now, halfway through 2020. Things are going to get worse before they gets better, but we will get through it all and build a better society on the other side. Thanks for sticking around. El-mayarah.
