Stormwater Update from Mayor Kennedy

Dear North Olmsted Residents,

We have launched a new webpage, Keep the Water Flowing, to better communicate our ongoing efforts in maintaining and improving the city’s drainage systems. It has been the top priority of my administration to invest in our infrastructure and provide the needed staffing and resources to tackle this issue in our community. We have taken a methodical approach, project by project, to increase capacity and correct deficiencies in our system and we’ve seen great success in many areas of North Olmsted. However, we know that for those continuing to experience flooding that these needed projects cannot come fast enough. I remain committed to taking all necessary action to continue the progress we’ve made in the last ten years, specifically in the southern and western areas of the city.

Thanks to those of you who attended one of our small group meetings at Springvale in June to share your observations and concerns regarding the May 15 storm event. We noted the many questions that you asked and created a FAQ section on our webpage. Also, staff has been working to respond to all individual inquiries and requests for information.

As work progresses on our action plan, we will be sure to keep this page updated. Please check back regularly and do not hesitate to contact my office for more information.

Sincerely,

Mayor Kevin Kennedy
