Welcome to our seventh newsletter. PCL was founded in 2015 and we recently completed our seventh PGCPLC programme in partnership with the Institute of Psychosynthesis. In these times of uncertainty we are ready to run our courses both online and face-to-face, depending upon circumstances. We still have three places available (at the time of posting) on the next programme starting September 2020 and are taking applications for the new format programme starting February 2021 - so please get in touch if you are interested.   Aubyn Howard and Paul Elliott, Directors

Covid-19 update July 2020:The Fundamentals of Psychosynthesis will be run as a four day online programme by the Institute in July, August and September 2020. Our next PGCPLC programme starting in September will involve monthly online workshops if meeting face-to-face is still not feasible by then, but will revert back to face-to-face in London as soon as it is safe to do so.
On 12 February 2020, we held our Second International Psychosynthesis Coaching Symposium in London with 80 people attending what turned out to be an amazing day. To view the full video of Petra's keynote address, as well as a summary of the day with interviews, go here: 2020 Symposium videos
We recently gave our website a revamp (thanks Elliot and Polly!), with new options to book directly onto an Open Event or arrange a 1-2-1 meeting on Zoom. The platform will be ready to offer online short courses from the autumn.
We have also redesigned the Coach Directory with a view to promoting it much more widely.  If you are a coach listed in the Directory, you will have received an email asking you to check and update your entry - please do this as soon as possible! And please add your photo if you haven't already!
All PGCPLC, 5DL and Institute Life and Leadership coaching graduates should be listed on the Directory - if you are not listed and should be, please click JOIN THE DIRECTORY or get in touch with Aubyn!  Other psychosynthesis trained practitioners, whether from the Trust, Institute or elsewhere, who are also practising coaches - you are very welcome to join the directory. Even if you do not explicitly describe yourself to clients as a psychosynthesis coach, but psychosynthesis informs your coaching approach, you are welcome to be listed here.
Your feedback on the directory and how it works is welcome.  When everything is working smoothly, we plan to start social media and other extensive promotion of the Directory. In the meantime, if you or anyone you know needs a psychosynthesis coach - whether a life or leadership/executive coach, and whether online or face-to-face, please give the Coach Directory a go!
Aubyn has recently written a series of four blog posts inspired by the pandemic crisis and the current world situation. These are published both on our website and on LinkedIn, under the series title of:
The dynamics of social transformation - opportunity in the coronavirus crisis.
A psycho-spiritual perspective on social change (post 1)
What are the three critical elements of social change (post 2)

How habit, power and catalysts influence social change (post 3)
The need for systemic, evolutionary and synthetic intelligence (post 4)

Feedback from the critics has ranged from: "Clarity of thought, insightful connecting of themes and so much laid out in this banquet you have provided to feast on! Most of all your open and vulnerable, personal narrative moved me profoundly. I shall read and reread this meaningful work you have provided us. So many valuable points to digest..." (Brigitte Jaquillard) to "pretentious intellectual mush" (Anon). Read for yourself and decide!

I suggest you start with Post 4 and then come back to the others if you remain interested.

The Pandemic: an opportunity to cultivate a bold vision
We are very pleased to be able to share Petra's latest article written during the pandemic crisis. She touches on some important current themes from a very psycho-spiritual perspective. A brief extract:

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "when there is no vision, people perish." Perhaps in this very idea of "vision" lies one of the possible keys to accessing the inner freedom so well described by individuals who have shown themselves able to access the freedom to choose the most courageous and creative responses, the most mature responses, seem to have one important characteristic in commonthey were all supported and guided by a broad, clear and inspiring vision.
From the testimonies of Gandhi, Mandela, Frankl, Hillesum and others, we know that those who are animated by a bold and meaningful vision are more likely to survive and to live positively even in very intense crises. Having a vision that gives meaning to our experience is therefore very important, especially in difficult times.

What participants said about the symposium in February:

It was a brilliant day.  I would have liked to attend all the sessions!
A day to listen, reflect and learn more about topics you thought you knew!
A stimulating day that reconnected me to the reasons why I trained in Psychosynthesis 30 years ago.
A wonderful opportunity for the Psychosynthesis community to get together and share their experiences and knowledge.
An excellent example of "Unity in diversity". Very relaxed though professional atmosphere. Bravo!
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the event, full of people who are truly enhancing people's lives and reflecting what's possible for humanity
Just a big thank you to the organisers and especially Paul and Aubyn for the effort to bring together such a wonderful day.   I walk away feeling so much more peaceful and hopeful (last year I felt the same and that lasted for several months!)

STUDENT FEEDBACK from PGCPLC Programmes

A fantastic experience that I will never forget… the authenticity of Paul and Aubyn really elevated the course to a level I have never before experienced with a face-to-face course. NH

I felt the course involved a wonderful synthesis of personal, systemic and spiritual work which was constantly grounded in the day-to-day challenges of coaching and organisational life. Inspiring but also deeply practical. PS

This course is so well structured that it ensures everyone gets what they came on it for and much more.  The depth and breadth of content is breath-taking…NL

This course was a life changing experience for me… the learning has supported me in making step changes in my role as a CEO and enabled me to confidently practice as a leadership coach. TD

This course is a powerful combination of theory and experience that has deepened my understanding of self and improved the quality of my coaching.
I am more grounded and confident in my ability to work with individuals at depth to support the transformation of leaders and organisations. RL

Expect to be on a deep personal journey, as well as a professional one.  LS

It has given me a solid framework in which to couch my coaching practice and I also feel liberated to follow my intuition as I continue to work on myself and with my clients. NL

It is offering something extremely valuable to coaches, therapists, their clients, business and society as a whole. DM

Paul and Aubyn you are a great team, a perfect balance - your sincerity, passion, knowledge and understanding are truly inspirational. JG
