New documentary on legendary Kansas City civil rights figure Leon M. Jordan
"Legacy of Leadership"will air live at 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 15th on KSHB.com, KSHB Facebook Page, and the KSHB YouTube channel on the 50th Anniversary of Leon Jordan’s assassination. The documentary is directed by filmmaker and musical artist, Emiel Cleaver whose been wanting to do this documentary since 2012. With the assistance of a 2019 Rocket Grant, Cleaver has been able to complete the project which he hopes both educates and enlightens by casting a light on Kansas City's rich, yet complex, Black history. Cleaver believes everyone in the metropolitan area at least should know who Leon Jordan was. He intends for this project, and others he has produced, to let younger generations know the struggle and sacrifices that were made by people like Jordan.
