Summer on Boston Emissions

Hello friends, We are several months into not seeing one another in person. We remain hopeful for recovery, for our livelihoods, for our community.

Boston Emissions has been airing regularly because music is being made, because connections are still needed, because we want to stay in touch and to lift each other up.

I am taking a summer break and will return in two weeks. Keep safe, keep making music.

-Anngelle
Here's what's happening
Rumble'd + New shows + At Home interviews + DJ⚡️VJ  Music video hour + BE Store
Rock & Roll RUMBLE 2020 was cancelled, twice. April dates at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville were postponed. Rescheduled "Summer Rumble' dates were made for July 30 through all of August. Call it. 2020, the Rumble year that wasn't. We tried. Now, we look to 2021 for live music to return. And science, we look to science.

Many thanks to the Class of 2020 who never got to play and celebrate ::: RockandRollRumble.com/Classof2020
Boston Emissions continues to produce new, original content each week featuring music from Boston and New England. This week's show includes a tribute to Mark Sandman and Morphine.

Boston Emissions Songs of the Week reairs on Wednesday nights as part of On the Town with Mikey Dee on 91.5 WMFO at Tufts University
Boston Emissions At Home.... The video interview series I started since we can't see one another in person. People are making music and I want to talk about it. Find recent interviews with Paul Hansen of The Grownup Noise, Sasha Alcott of When Particles Collide, Goddamn Glenn of Parlour Bells, and SkyTigers online, on Facebook, and on YouTube. Subscribe and follow: youtube.com/bostonemissions.

This week, At Home With Jerry Lehane: The longtime leader of Boston garage rock heroes, The Dogmatics, releases his 5-song solo debut EP on Friday on Rum Bar Records. We talked from our bunkers, dropped more than a few names.

Quote Me: "The result of those midnight sessions is a collection of pop-tinged sing-a-longs with a sweet garage rock bite. The first single, “Kiss My Tattoo,” would be a nice compliment to the soundtrack of the next Dennis Lehane (and Jerry’s cousin) movie shot in Boston. I forgot to ask if he ever did get his dog back."

DJ⚡️VJ ::: If you spent any time around here, it's likely you've heard of V66, probably MTV, VH-1, maybe even Much Music or Fuse. With Summer cancelled, we wouldn't be able to have the traditional BE Summer Sessions. I teamed with ONCE Somerville (whose challenges are many and they, like most businesses, are struggling) on a music video hour. First episode of this one hour music video show aired in June. It was a lot of fun so we are doing another show. Maybe it's a thing.
