Getting Unstuck 2020: Day 4
"Good Morning / Don't wait on anyone to make your favorite thing / Make your own favorite thing / Go"—Lin-Manuel Miranda

Dear friends,

Today's quote, while inspiring, doesn't totally capture the complexity of "making your own favorite thing"—particularly the emotional complexity. Creativity is hard! It demands our time, our energy, and our persistence. In our new project visualization tool, we wanted to explore the emotional facets of creative work. Each day, you can record how much time you spent working on your project and how you felt about working on it.
What have you been feeling about your creative work over the past few days? We'd love to know how you're doing and, if you've been using this new visualization tool, what feedback you might have about it. We'd be delighted to hear from you via email, on Twitter, or on Facebook.

Today, on Day 4 of Getting Unstuck, we'll be investigating events and passing messages.

Create
Create a project that uses broadcasting blocks:
a "broadcast [message]" block/"broadcast [message] and wait" and a "when I receive [message]" block
(Remember, if you get stuck, find inspiration and support in the Getting Unstuck Facebook group, on Twitter at #GettingUnstuck, or in our collection of Getting Unstuck strategies.)

Share
Add your Scratch project to this studio to share how you approached today's activity. Then, check out and comment on others' projects in the studio!

Reflect
Take a moment for a written reflection on your creative process in the Notes and Credits section of your project. How did you approach today's prompt? What would you do next, if you had more time?

Wishing you productive and joyful creative time!
Karen + Paulina

P.S. Did you miss the previous days? Check out the prompts archive—it's never too late to start!

P.P.S. If you explore, create, share, and reflect on all 10 activities, we'll mail you a physical Getting Unstuck sticker pack!
