Adaptable Remote Instruction

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to share some updates regarding our Adaptable Remote Instruction (ARI) resources and workshops. The programs I discuss below are going to be most useful to those teaching fully remote courses this fall; if you are teaching a blended on-campus course or a fully online course, then other support options are available to you.

ARI Canvas Course: Unit 2 of the ARI Canvas course is now published and it provides a variety of resources as you think about teaching in a remote context this fall. If you haven’t already done so, you can still self-enroll in the ARI Canvas course.

ARI Workshops: We are continuing to offer ARI workshops, with a focus next week on the ‘Adaptable Remote Teaching’ workshop that aligns with Unit 2 of the Canvas course. Beginning the week of July 20th, we have also scheduled additional offerings of the ARI Unit 1 workshops for those who weren’t able to participate earlier on.

In addition to the two primary workshops that correspond to the two Canvas units, there are also supplemental sessions that provide more focused attention to the pedagogical approaches and educational technologies we believe will be most helpful to you. We will be adding to our supplemental session offerings throughout the summer as new topics arise.

You can find session descriptions and links to register on the CTE website and the Canvas course, which will be updated regularly to reflect our most current offerings.

We look forward to continuing to support you in this work in the days and weeks to come. In the meantime, please feel free to let us know at centerforteaching@bc.edu if you have any pressing concerns.

Best,
Stacy
