Welcome to the 10 July edition of the Swimming NSW e-newsletter
Grassroots Sports Fund: Club invited to apply!

Did you know that your club could be eligible for up to $1,000 to assist with the costs of returning to sport?

Swimming NSW is pleased to advise that applications for the Grassroots Sport Fund are now open and eligible clubs are encouraged to apply.

The Grassroots Sport Fund is part of the NSW Government’s Community Sport Recovery Package, providing a one-off grant of up to $1,000 for clubs and associations to help the sporting sector get back on its feet as sport returns in NSW. Swimming NSW, with support from the Office of Sport, will be responsible for administering the Fund to its eligible affiliated clubs.

Eligible affiliated clubs are invited to apply by
no later than Monday, 20 July 2020.

Swim League is back! New dates, new locations.
It’s fun. It’s fast. It’s furious. It’s BACK!

After delaying the original season due to COVID-19, Swimming NSW is pleased to announce a new competition schedule for Swim League 2020. 

In total, 10 gala days across Sydney, regional NSW and ACT have been scheduled for the modified season, providing plenty of options to get swimmers back to racing in a fun setting.

With no QTs, no technical officials, no pressure, Swim League is the ideal
re-introduction to competitive swimming and the perfect opportunity for young swimmers to get their feet back on the blocks.

Exclusive Wylas Timing trial for metro clubs

Swimming NSW has teamed up with Wylas Timing to offer metro clubs an exclusive three-day trial of their innovative fully automated wireless timing system.

Clubs will be able to test out the capabilities of the technology at an upcoming meet or club night with their all-inclusive timing pack, which includes both the software and hardware components (which would normally be purchased separately).

The offer is available to Swimming NSW clubs in the Sydney Metro area from July - September 2020. Visit the Wylas Timing website to learn more about the timing solution and if it’s right for your club. If you have any further questions, get in touch with us.

One week left to nominate: Community Sports Awards
It's time to recognise your NSW Sport Volunteers. 
Nominations for the 2020 NSW Community Sports Awards close 
midnight Friday, 17 July 2020.

The NSW Community Sports Awards recognise outstanding achievements and contributions to community sport in NSW. These awards are focused on community and grassroots sport and provide State Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Organisations with a Disability an opportunity to recognise the efforts and achievements of their dedicated volunteers.

To assist with your nominations, please download the 2020 NSW Community Sports Awards Guidelines to see conditions of entry and criteria for the awards.

REMINDER: Vote for the SNSW Board of Directors
Online voting for the Swimming NSW Board of Directors is open. Voting instructions and login details have been sent out to all 2020-21 affiliated Clubs & Areas. Where a Club or Area is unable to access the established voting website, applications can be made to the Chief Executive Officer for an alternative balloting system (such as postal).

Please contact Mark Heathcote, CEO, Swimming NSW if your Club or Area has not received its voting login details or if you have any questions about the vote.

Voting will remain open until Thursday 23rd July 2020 at 12 pm (noon).

Swim Central tips for clubs
Users now have the option to securely save their bank card information when making a purchase, rather than entering the same details every time they wish to pay for something.

What’s Next?

In a few weeks’ time, NSW users will be able to easily purchase their membership with an Active Kids Voucher! This process has been simplified and the API has been integrated, so it will be a quick and easy process to follow. Stay tuned for more information on this.
