CRANAplus live webinars: Supporting health professionals in drought and bushfire affected communities

CRANAplus is proud to announce four mental health training online workshop events. These online workshops are part of a series developed to support health professionals in drought and bushfire affected areas through a grant by the Commonwealth Department of Health.
 
We invite nurses, general practitioners, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, allied health and any health professional to join us in these free events, where presenters will be available online for Q & A after the presentation.

Tuesday 14th July 6.30pm
Drought and Fires and Mental Health - What can I do? 

Presented by Cath Walker, psychologist and previous registered general nurse with 30 years’ experience in regional and remote health services in Australia. She will be joined by Alex Donoghue, clinical counsellor with 20 years’ experience in mental health and lives on a 30,000-acre cattle property.

Simple Psychological Interventions for Individuals Impacted by Disaster and Trauma

Presented by Dr Jane Nursey, an expert in the field of post traumatic mental health and Director of Clinical Services for Phoenix Australia, Centre for Post traumatic Mental Health.
 

Monday 20th July 6.30pm
Where the Rubber Hits the Road

Nicole Tujague & Kelleigh Ryan from The Seedling Group explore what is trauma? How do we recognise it and what can we do about it? The Seedling Group conducts research and evaluation and delivers training around culturally safe, trauma-informed practice and care. Nicole and Kelleigh have a passion for co-design, culturally safe and Indigenous led practices.
 

Tuesday 21th July 6.30pm
Looking Through a Cultural and Trauma Lens

Nicole Tujague & Kelleigh Ryan explore the simple things you can do in your practice and how to avoid re-triggering. Nicole and Kelleigh have a passion for co-design, culturally safe and Indigenous led evaluation practices.
