Sunrise Weekly Update!

A BIG congratulations to our former High School Coordinator and newly appointed Site Director, Brianna Morales. Brianna was recently featured on our podcast, The Sunrise Side of the Street, discussing her work engaging with older youth digitally. Brianna has been doing amazing work at South Philadelphia High School and in her student advocacy work in Philadelphia. We are proud to also recognize her recent acceptance onto the Philadelphia Youth Commission (PYC). Brianna has been selected as a PHL Youth Commissioner, whose role is to Advise the Mayor, City Council, Philadelphia Schools, and other decision-makers on issues relating to young people. Other responsibilities include:

Commenting on legislation and policies that impact youth.
Creating public service programs that improve the lives of youth.
Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of youth programs and policies.
Partnering with neighborhood youth organizations on shared issues.
