Dear <<First Name>>,

As COVID-19 infection rates grow in Haiti, food insecurity and economic desperation are more severe than ever.  Families in our Children First program have been deeply impacted. Most rely on the informal economy and live in urban slum communities.

Creating pathways for income generation is absolutely crucial now and for the future.

For this reason, we are identifying gaps in the market and working with women to produce vital goods and services at locally competitive prices. This includes the production of masks and cleaning products - liquid soap, detergent, disinfectant and vinegar.

Christiese, a participant in our Children First program for the past 2 years, is already earning enough to care for her family even in these uncertain times.

With training and start-up supply costs covered by HRI, she was able to make her first 5 gallons of disinfectant. Within one day, she sold it all to households in her neighborhood. Seeing the tremendous demand for more, she reinvested her earnings in a new round of supplies and made more cleaning products. Each day brings new success in her business!

She has the knowledge.

Her products are in demand and sell rapidly.

She is self-motivated to continue.

We are thrilled that Christiese is making the most of this opportunity and encouraging others to do the same. Success and progress is possible even in challenging times! Please consider supporting this and other income generating programs that will empower women like Christiese.

With gratitude,

Rachel Zelon
CEO & President
