I have always loved and indenified with the old  Lee Dorsey song "Everything I Do Gohn Be Funky...from now on". The song could mean anything or nothing at all but to me it means that you do not have to remain in the present idea of yourself,  and at any moment (...from now on) you can choose again. I like the idea of choosing again.
So go ahead and glorify who you are today, do not condemn who you were yesterday,  and dream of who you can be tomorrow! .....also, tonight get your new self some
