An Update From The Stay At Home Logan County Democratic Party

A member of Shannon Freshour's campaign was in attendance for our June meeting. Tonianne Beals, Regional Organizer, talked to the party about how the campaign is starting in earnest. Virtual Phone Banks are starting and they are also offering training as well. If you would like more info or to volunteer check out this link.

The Solidarity March took place this month in downtown Bellefontaine and several Democrats were in attendance. Barb Gant reported over 400 people in attendance, voter registration took place, and Shannon Freshour made an appearance.

We have several open Central Committee Seats that need to be filled. Central Committee members regularly attend meetings and help organize the party itself, along with voter engagement and other party functions. The open seats are in these precincts - Fourth Ward B, Jefferson North, Liberty, McArthur, DeGraff, Rushcreek, Stokes Southeast, Stokes West, Washington South, and Huntsville. If you live in one of these precincts (or know someone that does) and would like more information contact Ben Rudolph.
Get To Know Your Officers!
Starting this month, we will be sharing profiles of each of our Officers. July’s feature profile is with Sue Neer. Sue is the Treasurer for the party and has been for two and a half years. Sue also holds the position of Harrison Township Central Committee. A lifelong resident of Logan County, Sue grew up on a dairy farm in the Pickrelltown area and worked at Honda for 23 years before retiring. During her time in office Sue hopes to let the people of Logan County know that the Democratic Party is here and to win the trust and recognition of our fellow citizens. When asked why she is a Democrat, Sue stated “I am a Democrat because I believe in equality for all. I believe in compassion and empathy and helping those who need it.”
What You Can Do From Home

Absentee Ballot request forms are available now. You can request an absentee ballot on the Logan County Board of Elections website, or by calling 937-599-7255

The one great thing about all of this (if anything can be considered great right now) is that attending a meeting has never been easier! Our monthly meetings take place the last Thursday of the month at 7pm, and we are currently hosting virtual meetings through Zoom. To attend a meeting, simply email Sue Neer asking for a link to the meeting, and you can attend from the comfort of your own couch. These meetings are also being live streamed to our Facebook page. If you would like to receive a monthly meeting notice by email, please contact Ben Rudolph.  We are also hosting a virtual Lunch with Liberals this month on July 20th at 1pm. You can also get a link to this Zoom meeting from Sue. Feel free to log in for the conversation, but you’ll have to bring your own lunch.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page and our website for any news and updates!
