Welcome, new subscribers!

I've had a lot of new folks join the newsletter after downloading a free copy of Traitors Unseen. I'm so glad to have you with us, and I hope you're enjoying the book. If you haven't gotten a free copy yet, you can do so at this link.

The Outcast Crown is nearly here!

The Outcast Crown, the direct sequel to Flames Over Frosthelm, is in the hands of my copy editor/proofreader. That means (unless he comes back with difficult issues to resolve) that the book is nearly ready for release. I'm so excited to share with you the continued adventures of Boog, Marten, and Clarice, plus some cool new characters and a whole new adventure. This sequel takes place about a year after the events in Flamesonce the city has returned a little more to normal.
It's told from the perspective of Boog rather than Marten, which gives a new perspective on the Guild and on Frosthelm. Boog is far more confident and physically imposing than Marten, but his confidence and brashness sometimes leads him into situations he's not actually ready for. I think he grows a lot in this book, and I hope you'll enjoy getting to know him better and seeing how he develops. If all goes well, expect the book to be available on Amazon within a couple of weeks. I'll be sure to let you know when it's ready. I've got a pre-release page up, so you can click the book image above to learn more.

Puzzle Time!

I made the following puzzles for an indie fantasy fan page I subscribe to on Facebook. I thought you all might have some fun with it. I've put the answers at the end of this message if you want to check your answers.

Other Books to Try

I'm part of several independent author groups where we work together to help our books find their audience. I've got two opportunities for you to find new books to read.

Opportunity #1: Free Books!

This promotion from a multitude of authors has a whole bunch of books available absolutely free, including my book, Traitors Unseen. It's just like the book fairs back in elementary school, except you don't have to ask your parents for any money (and unfortunately there are no stickers). Check it out for some free reading!

Opportunity #2: Magic-Price

This is the first book of a cool fantasy series by C.L. Schneider called The Crown of Stones. This first book centers on a member of a magical race, enslaved to fight others' wars, who has paid a terrible price for his new life. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but there are a host of positive reviews for this dark fantasy trilogy. Be sure to check it out!

Thanks

Thanks for being part of my reader community and for subscribing to the newsletter. If you like the puzzle here, I might start doing something like this for future newsletters. Let me know if it's fun.

I hope you and your family and friends are keeping safe and healthy in this difficult new era, and I hope fantasy stories are giving you a chance to take part in some new adventures.

May the Bloodmother look after you -
Dave
