"The 2020 LaunchVT Cohort is off to a great start and we're gearing up for our annual investor event. This year the event will be virtual and the format will be a little different, but you'll still get to see all seven pitches, ask questions, and provide feedback to the founders. This event doubles as a rehearsal for Demo Night and an informal opportunity for local investors to meet some of the best early stage startups in Vermont. The event will be held on Tuesday July 7th from 2-4pm via zoom. Please let me know if you are able to join and I will send along a calendar invite with more details."

LaunchVT provides intensive mentorship and business acceleration services to cohorts of eight entrepreneurs.

All eight members of the cohort receive mentorship specific to the needs of their businesses and participate in office hours, peer strategy sessions, focused trainings, pitch prep workshops, and investor events. Each member of the cohort will leave the accelerator with a refined and polished pitch deck, a Launch Report (executive summary), and extensive connections to local founders, advisors, investors, and service providers.

In selecting our cohort and awarding cash and services, we look for:

1. Viability: Quality of the product, business model and team
2. Scalability: Market opportunity and revenue growth potential
3. Impact: Job creation and positive economic impact on VT

"In 2018, UBS embarked on a groundbreaking study of US women to investigate the fallout of two specific trends: increased life expectancy, and the rise of “grey” divorce (that is, separation in couples of an older demographic). At some point in their lives, whether they prepared for it or not (and often times, it appears “not”), the study revealed that 8 out of 10 women will end up alone, and solely responsible for their financial well-being.  We don’t want to give too much away—but if you thought Millennial women were leading the financial-independence charge, you’re in for a surprise. In the age of women’s empowerment and #MeToo, how are women of all generations engaging and participating in long-term wealth decisions? And do we have a unique opportunity in the wake of COVID-19 to change these trends forever?"
