Can you believe we are half way through 2020? And what a six months it has been. Who knows what the next six months will bring but our hope is in the Lord Jesus. As the hymn states: “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness.” Even the vision of Redeemer Church is centered around that truth. Our vision states that
we would be developing a passion for Jesus by equipping the saints and reaching the lost. In my mind there are two ways to look at our world today. We can either get upset at what is going on and pine for the good old days or we can see this time as an amazing opportunity for the advancement of the kingdom of God. Everyone in society is asking questions, everyone is wondering what is happening in our culture? What is our response supposed to look like? Are we as a church prepared to give a reason for the hope that is in us?

1 Peter 3:15 says, “But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

I trust you can see how that verse is so relevant with our world today. We are to be salt and light in a tasteless and dark world. Would you be willing to pray that this week God would use you to encourage your neighbor, your co-worker, even your family member with the hope that is within you?

With all of the changes going on weekly as far as the pandemic goes let me simply remind you that on Sunday morning we are following the social distancing practices that our government has outlined for us. I know we are all weary of this but let us pray that we would continue to use wisdom as we walk through this time together. Have a great week.

CHOICES| Choices is a local ministry in Brandon and Southshore that empowers women and men facing pregnancy decisions to choose life for their unborn child. Many of their fundraising efforts have been affected by COVID-19. Choices is encouraging churches and individuals to give during the month of July to support their on-going ministry efforts. COVID-19 PROCEDURES | In light of county-wide regulation changes in regards to COVID-19, we'd like to remind you that our church is continuing in its efforts to provide a safe worship environment through social distancing, staggered seating, contact-less interactions, and thorough cleaning of all surfaces.

FOOD PANTRY | Thursday, July 16, 5-7 PM the Redeemer Food Pantry will open for distribution and is looking for volunteers to serve in the prayer room, assisting clients with food selection, and carrying their food to their vehicles. All volunteers must be 12 years of age or older. Contact the Redeemer Church Office for more information.
