Active Kids voucher: information from the Office of Sport
Below is some important information about the Active Kids program to help as restrictions start to ease and sport activity can resume.
  • Second Active Kids Voucher now available: From 1 July, families are able to access their second $100 Active Kids voucher for 2020. Active Kids vouchers remain valid until 31 December with the second voucher being available from 1 July to 31 December. There have been changes to the look and feel of how parents claim vouchers in 2020. Discounts must be provided at the time of registration and vouchers may not be transacted for cash. Only NSW residents are eligible; do not accept vouchers that have been claimed by residents from another state/territory. Further information about claiming vouchers is available on the Service NSW website. If families have any questions about claiming their voucher, they can call the Service NSW Contact Centre on 13 77 88 or email the Active Kids Team directly via activekids@sport.nsw.gov.au.
  • Voucher refunds: Active Kids Providers may retain the funding from vouchers that have already been redeemed where a program has been cancelled due to COVID-19 or a recipient has been unable to continue with the program. The Office of Sport encourages all providers to examine options to deliver alternatives to existing programs that may be affected by COVID-19. This may include extension, delayed commencement or additional programs that satisfy Active Kids Provider Terms and Conditions
  • Online activities: Whilst the NSW Government understands these are unprecedented times and businesses have had to adapt to continue to engage with their customers, please note Active Kids does not permit the use of vouchers for online or virtual activities or registration for paid mobile Apps. As per the Active Kids Terms and Conditions, activities must be structured and supervised which does not include online programs. This policy has not changed so please ensure you remain compliant.
  • Active Kids provider account maintenance: Improvements to the online account and dashboard are currently underway and you may notice minor changes to the look and feel. Your account remains active - you do not need to re-register. To ensure you remain active, however, please review the following:
    • Ensure your insurance details are kept up to date. If it is expiring, please upload a pdf copy of the new certificate and the expiry details on your dashboard.
    • Manage the delegates who login and access your Active Kids account. You can add or remove delegates on the Delegation tab. Always ensure you have an active delegate before revoking the access of a delegate to an account.
    • Manage your programs to ensure you are visible on the search page and are able to redeem your vouchers. Check that your programs are up to date. This can be managed in the Programs tab.

Swim Central tips for clubs
Phase two of making a purchase workflow is complete!

Here is the full help guide. This applies to all purchases in Swim Central – e.g. Memberships, events, event tickets, and more.

Is your club account UP TO DATE?

In order for clubs to receive payments, and for their members to receive refunds where relevant, every club need to ensure the following is complete:

  • The club acquires an ABN number (easy steps to do so are found here).
  • The club lists the ABN within the Entity contact information in Swim Central.
  • The club chooses a Club Contact. This contact can be anybody on the committee (i.e. with access to the Entity on Swim Central).
  • Their first name, last name and DOB must match exactly with the Identity documents uploaded (here is how to upload the ID and correctly match everything). It is super important for clubs to read through this, because you may have attempted ID upload in the past, however it may not have been uploaded correctly.

NOW is the best time to ensure all of these details are up to date, to ensure no problems when Swimming starts up again!

Renewing becomes easier!

This will be shown in further detail in the weeks to come, but the renew link on a user’s home page/dashboard will take users to the full list of memberships where user can select the expiring membership then click on the Browse Membership Catalogue button that will then direct them to shopping. How easy!

This will take them to Shopping in the membership catalogue for club/organisation of the expiring/expired membership for that member tab.
