Thanks for all your good wishes re the interview panel on Thursday. I can reclaim that head space now, that was kept full of facts and figures and put it to a more creative and less stressful use. The successful candidates will be notified in August, I shall just get on with my Christmas ideas …. oh no there you go, I have said the word, I've actually done the deed too, as I completed my first series of a certain festive character this week. It didn't feel right, but I guess I'm not the only one struggling in these strange times.
It has actually been a bit tricky to make some things lately, as supplies can be difficult to obtain, I'm not sure if anyone else is finding this? I have had difficulty getting red wool so I can make more rainbows. I could have bought some from the internet but it was from Australia and I don't like buying Australian wool as the sheep are cruelly treated. Thankfully my lovely Scottish supplier has now dyed me some and rainbows will be back in stock from Monday.
You are probably aware of the traffic changes near Happy Planet, on Park View and on the sea front between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. They don't extend to where we are situated so access is still as it was, although if driving you may find a detour via Monkseaton reduces times on a sunny day.....when we have one.
As I think you are aware many theatres and theatrical groups are struggling given the length of time they are unable to operate. Many are offering online options and asking for donations rather than a ticket cost. Bristol Old Vic, which is a lovely theatre is one of the establishments now online and you can find them here https://bristololdvic.org.uk/at-home
There is a new online directory called 'still open', which is trying to connect customers with small independent businesses in the UK. It is searchable and is growing daily. You can find that directory here https://stillopen.business/#list-of-businesses
