CSA Week #3
U-Pick is ON! Thanks for your patience as we polished a U-Pick plan to help keep you and our staff safe. U-Pick will be available on the farm next Wednesday, July 8th, from 3PM-7PM!

Available U-Pick crops:
Strawberries & Peas (last chance for the season)
Raspberries & Flowers

A few important notes:
  • We will provide containers for you to pick into while out in the field. Get 'em at the Farm Stand or U-Pick tent!
  • You must wear a mask while U-Picking in the fields, even if you are more than 6 feet away from others. Please see an important update about masks below.
  • Adhere to any signage or staff instructions on where to harvest.
  • Hand washing stations will be available near the fields.
  • U-Pick is only available during Wednesday CSA pickup hours from 3PM-7PM. If any bonus U-Pick times/days open up, we'll let you know!

Take a look at our 2020 Seasonality Chart to get a sense for what the anticipated growing season looks like!
Did you get your FREE 2020 Oxbow tote bag? If you haven't yet, be sure to pick one up during your pickup time! (One per household). This year's totes are made from an airy recycled cotton blend with a larger capacity and longer handles.

Due to COVID-19 Health & Safety guidelines, we are still unable to bag produce directly into reusable totes or containers; for now, your veggies must be bagged into single-use bags by Oxbow staff (we know, it's a bummer, but we're doing our absolute best to keep our shareholders and farmers healthy).
COVID-19 Health & Safety Reminders UPDATED 7/3

An important update about masks
On July 2nd, Governor Inslee issued a statewide order that businesses must require and enforce the use of face coverings - not just for staff, but also for all visitors and customers. Masks or face coverings are required when picking up your CSA at the farm or Farmers Market, and when U-Picking at Oxbow. For more information and exemptions, visit the WA State COVID-19 info page on face coverings.

We're in the process of getting disposable masks to have handy on-site for any guests who might have forgotten them. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to keep our staff, our visitors, and our food safe!
  • You may bring your own reusable tote bag, but Oxbow staff will need to bag your produce into a single-use bag before handing it to you to place in your tote.
  • If you're picking up at a Farmers Market, you'll be required to follow the safety protocol set forth by each Market: Mercer Island Protocol | Issaquah Protocol
  • Maintain safe distances of 6 feet or more from other Shareholders, and be kind and patient as we assist others.
  • Please keep your pets at home. We adore dogs, but they aren't permitted anywhere at Oxbow, including in the parking area.
For all pickup locations: Your farmers will be handling all the food while wearing masks and gloves. Please do not handle any produce, other than your U-Pick items, yourself.

Please refer to the Farmer-Shareholder agreement for more details on COVID-19 Safety.
Thank you for navigating all the COVID-19 guidelines and orders alongside us. We know these newsletters have been kind of heavy on protocol for the first few weeks - we really are a fun bunch of folks and we miss seeing actual smiles just as much as you do! In the meantime, keep on smizing (smiling with your eyes) and thanks so much for the continued support and positive spirits.

As always, please reach out to farmers@oxbow.org or 425-788-1134 with any questions!
