Dear Beardsleyites

This is a newsletter from the world of queer decadence, soul-saving escapism, and online Beardsleyana.

I am delighted to announce a new publication in the AB Blog. Golnoosh Nour's deliciously camp and exquisitely decadent 'A Peacock is a Poem' explores the definitions of poetry as an art form through a Beardsleyesque lens (read and listen).

You are also welcome to join me for a nostalgic trip through the ephemera of the cancelled conference AB 2020: Beardsley Re-Viewed. Its remains are now preserved in this blog

Since the launch of the AB Library, this digital collection has accumulated new open access sources, including early critical articles and chapters by Alexandre de Riquer (1900), Holbrook Jackson (1913), and Martin Birnbaum (1919), to name but a few. An ever-growing number of publications which were designed, illustrated, decorated, and embroidered by Beardsley is stored under the rubric Primary sources

Last but not least, the Aubrey Beardsley exhibition at Tate Britain has been extended until 20 September 2020. If you are able to attend and would like to write about the show for the AB Blog, please drop me a line.

With warmest wishes,
