ST. FINIANS GAA CLUB
CLUB NOTES 8th JULY 2020
Club Executive
I would like to welcome everyone back after an unexpected hiatus from GAA for 3 months.  It was so exciting to see the pitches filled with a wave of maroon and white this last week as our teams returned to training.

A huge thank you is due to our members for their support with our  “Safe Return to Play” protocols and of course our Team Managers and Mentors have done a huge amount of background work preparing for our teams return.

I would like to wish all our Adult Football, Hurling, LGFA and Camogie teams the best of luck in the upcoming Championship matches.

Our Juvenile section will also have a full schedule of games. Even though some competitions have been cancelled, we look forward to seeing our players in action.

The Club Executive are hopeful that some form of Club Summer Activity can be organised for our Club Juvenile section before their return to school.

See you out there, all the best.

Club News
St. Finians showed its fantastic spirit during the lockdown with members volunteering to be part of the Community Call initiate to reach out and support the elderly and vulnerable in our parish.  Working closely with our local SuperValu to deliver groceries and other vital services, these volunteers really stepped up to the mark.
Well done all.
Return To Play
Huge thanks to AFM Facilities Management Group who gave our Clubhouse a full Electrostatic Disinfection before Return To Play Free of charge. Brilliant job done.

A huge amount of effort has gone in by all the Mentors and Members to get the club back up and running in the last few weeks.  You guys are amazing.
Thank You!
Skill Videos
Three and half months is a long time for players to be away from the game. But in our clubs case we have no excuses.

Our GPO, Aisling Kane, provided top quality football and hurling skill videos from day one. In total, over 25 fantastic educational videos can be found on our social media sites. All produced and published since the 18th of March.  Another 20 skill and challenge videos were produced by our mentors with special thanks to Mark Murray.

Phenomenal job guys.

Health & Wellbeing
The GAA healthy clubs steps challenge was a fantastic success. The St. Finians GAA team have a grand total of 2,000,000 steps across the team and are in 44th position in the Leinster competition.  Thanks to everyone for taking part on behalf of St. Finians. All the running, waking, dance class, gardening & piggy back rides for weight training have been well worth it.
Club Culture
Very last call for hearts for our 'Grá dár laochra' (love for our heroes) collage, if you could get them in before next Friday 17th July it would be great. It's so much more effective with as many hearts as possible.

It's really easy to do:
You need a SQUARE piece of paper, (you can cut an A4 page into a square 21cm x 21 cm)
draw and design your heart.

Take a photo and send to pro.stfiniansswords.dublin@gaa.ie

Go raibh maith agaibh,
