Improving Our MKQU Content

We have heard the extremely positive feedback from our hundreds of students that have joined the MK Quilts University. There is no other resource like it on the Internet. We have also heard the challenges that people have in knowing where to start and finding the information among our growing content. The suggestions on Facebook were excellent! We knew we needed to take immediate action to act on these ideas.
Therefore, MK Quilts has filled a Director of Education position and that person will be coordinating with the many volunteer 'editors' willing to help. All of our content will be reviewed, indexed, time stamped, and keyworded for easier searching. We are committed to re-investing your tuition dollars toward making MKQU even better. Introducing Colleen Schaan

As you know, MK Quilts has one of the industry’s leading education programs and I’m honored to be joining MK’s team as the Director of Education.
I’ve always been an educator of some sort. I began as a high-school English teacher and then moved on to the private sector and worked as a national instructor and eventual Education Director for a company in the creative arts industry. I spent many of those years writing tutorials for a crafting magazine and published five “how-to” books as a side-gig.
In 2012, my mother-in-law taught me how to quilt and I bought my first long-arm a few years later. I’ve since upgraded to an Amara through MK Quilts and am a HUGE fan of Melissa’s approach to digital quilting.
I will be focusing my efforts on the MK Quilts University site and my goal is to improve your user experience while maintaining top-quality content as we continue to grow. Don’t worry, Melissa will continue to create new content sharing her infectious enthusiasm and giving you all those “Ahhh Ha!” moments.

Astonishment, joyfulness, thankfulness, excitement, anticipation and huge helping of gratitude for all that is happening in our world right now; that's whats on my mind today. The world at large is still in a bit of turmoil. We all know that. But we do have control over, or at least a large say in, how we let it all affect us personally.

In the MK Quilts world, it's bright and happy with new and exciting things always coming your way. Paul and some of the other team members have taken care of cluing you in on all that with the other business here this month.
For me, I just want to say that much of the sentiment going around is "could we just wipe 2020 from the record book"? We here at MK Quilts are happy to help you make it as positive as we can inspite of the circumstances. Sometime Paul will have to tell you about his history with motivational speakers and my resistance to them. One in particular. We'll save that for another day. But I have seen the light. Life is what we make of it. Are you half full or half empty today? We're for sure half full and getting fuller all the time. The coming quarter here is going to be huge. Stay on board with us. Samson's Corner
Not only am I freshly back from the groomers, I also have a new ride! It is properly named, "Samson's Chariot."
Don't worry. When it is really hot, he leaves the car running with the AC going. It is a good thing he takes me along to Publix for groceries. There are a bunch of masked people walking by and I need to protect the car!
