The Cessnock City Council Economic Development and Tourism Team hopes the eased COVID-19 restrictions is helping to get customers back into your business.
The Visitor Information Centre staff have seen a large increase in visitor numbers and phone calls since 1 June 2020, with the majority of inquires relating to accommodation, food and experience booking.
To support our local tourism businesses Cessnock City Council has just approved to waive Hunter Valley Visitor Centre Tourism Membership Fees until 31 December 2020. This means your current membership will automatically be continued without the need to complete any application forms or payments.
Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre staff have just started a service review and as a result have installed new tourism signs and images, redesigned the Centre layout to make visitor information more prominent, are creating a conference room for our members and investigating a variety of other projects. One project we are investigating is the possibility of combining the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association (HVWTA) and Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre (HVVIC) memberships into one partnership offering. This would provide one source of tourism information for the Hunter Valley and allow us to combine our strengths to offer an improved service to tourism businesses.
We would be grateful if you could answer the following questions regarding a potential tourism partnership and if you see value in a collaborative tourism approach for the Hunter Valley.
