Lay Out the Welcome Mat

on how to take pleasure in weakness

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness...”

-2 Corinthians 12:9

Here it is. The great, paradoxical secret that unravels the way I think.

God faithfully uses the gifting He has given me. He asks me to be a good steward of my strengths. But his power does not work best in my strengths. His power works BEST in my weakness...

Updates

We're all moved in to our house in Deltona, Florida.

This was the best move ever! No vehicle break-downs, great visits along the way, and Abi was a trooper in the car! Thank you so much for praying for us during the transition and all the travel!

We're now working full-time on support-raising, visa paperwork, and preparation for our move to the field.

Our plane tickets aren't purchased yet, but we're planning to fly to Papua New Guinea in early January to begin our culture and language study.

Prayer Needs

Parenting! We're taking our little guy through a lot of transition these days and find ourselves balancing many tasks at once. Pray that God will teach us to be willing to be interrupted, and pour loads of his wisdom, grace, and consistency into our interactions with Abishai.

Please keep praying that the Lord will prepare people to partner with us in this work, and that we will be generous and faithful stewards of all that He gives to us. Thank you so much for praying!!

We are down to the last 2% (about $100/month) of our fundraising for monthly support!!! Our God is so, so faithful!

A few one-time expenses we're asking the Lord to provide for include:
  • Abishai's surgery this summer
  • Plane tickets to Papua New Guinea
  • Shipping costs to move our belongings (via airline baggage and shipping container)
  • A used four-wheeler to get around the base in Goroka

If you would like to donate toward any of those specific needs, you can give using our normal mission account, and just shoot us an email letting us know where you would like us to designate those funds.

Here is a wish list of additional items we're hoping to purchase to take with us to the field

Finally, please pray that the Lord will prepare us to be a good fit and to work well with our team there in Papua New Guinea and to be his willing and humble tools to serve and care for the many missionary families that are working there.

Thank you so much for keeping up with us!

Love,

Cody, Beka & Abishai
