🎼 Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at the AGA 🎼

We’re bringing music and art together this summer! We’ve partnered with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra to present weekly performances at your AGA throughout the month of July. Join us every Thursday at 5pm and every Saturday at 3pm to enjoy these mini-concerts. Best of all, they are included with your membership or AGA admission so be sure to come early to explore our recently reopened exhibitions and finish your day by enjoying a performance from the ESO.

To help us manage capacities and keep everyone safe, pre-booking is required here.

If you would like to support the ESO, the musicians will be accepting donations onsite and every little bit helps. Online donations, and donations by cheque, will be eligible for a tax receipt. Thank you so much for your generosity!

July 9 and 11: ESO String Quarter in G minor

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra presents a chamber music performance of Mozart’s “String Quartet in G minor K.516” at the Art Gallery of Alberta with Ewald Cheung and Neda Yamach (violins), Clayton Leung and Ethan Filner (violas) and Victor Pipkin (cello).

We’re celebrating and we want to hear from YOU!

August 17, 1924, marked our humble beginnings as the Edmonton Museum of Arts. This year marks ten years in our now iconic building and we are looking back at our exhibitions over the past decade. To commemorate these milestones we want to hear from you, our members and visitors!

Share with us your favourite exhibition from the last ten years. What stood out? Why? Send us your stories by emailing marketing@youraga.ca or by using the hashtag #AGA10 on social media.

Your story might be shared on our website and social channels! We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your participation.

250 AGA: An online design investigation by Amery Calvelli
Week three - “The insulating properties of glass. The history of its production and use. And its meaning.”

The third week of an exploration into Michael Sorkin’s essay “Two Hundred Fifty Things an Architect Should Know” brings us to the question of glass. Amery Calvelli caught up with Pat Hanson, founding partner at gh3* to discuss two buildings in Edmonton, the Borden Park Pavilion and Real Time Control Building #3, that employ glass in an innovative way.

Join AGA Educator Kerri in our studio this summer and discover the creative habits and building behaviours of animals. Inspired by our children’s gallery exhibition Animal Architects, we will examine a new animal or insect each week to better understand how they make and build. Then, you will make an artwork inspired by nature’s artistry!

Gather up the listed supplies from around your home, review our prep list and meet us online on Saturdays at 10am! Register through Webinarjam.
