Greetings Friends!

How wonderful it has been to see so many of you after re-opening at the beginning of June.
I get emotional thinking about how caring, understanding and generous you all have been as we navigate this time together. I hope that your experience upon your return to Natural Marvels has felt comfortable and as therapeutic as always.

We are still operating on a "minimizing the risk" scenario since we can't social distance. That means clients are still wearing masks or face coverings in the building and during your massage (and, of course, so am I). Though I think all of us were a bit wary of what that might feel like, every person so far has been able to make this work for themselves. We have been getting creative to keep things comfortable. I invite you to take a moment to watch the video below to get some tips on how you might adjust your mask or use a personal scarf so that your breathing doesn't feel restricted at all.

You will also notice that the window in my treatment room will most always remain open during massages to improve airflow and ventilation in the room.

A few other things to keep in mind:
  • When you receive your appointment reminder email the day before your appointment, there will be updated information to let you know what to expect, and there will be a short online form for you to fill out before you arrive for your massage. This online form should be filled out before each massage. It asks for your temperature, so fill it out the day of your appointment unless you want me to take your temperature with a contact-less thermometer before your massage. If you don't already receive automatic reminder emails about your appointments, please be sure to let me know.
  • There is hand sanitizer in the treatment room for your use before and after your massage, or feel free to wash your hands according to CDC guidelines as soon as you enter and before you leave.
  • I will be wearing a mask the entire time you are in the building, including during your treatment. I will wear gloves if you prefer, but in most cases will be washing hands before stepping into the room and keeping hand sanitizer in the room in case my hands touch something besides you, your linens, or the oils/lotions used for your massage.
  • Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. If you arrive more than 5 minutes AFTER your scheduled appointment time, it is likely that your appointment will be cut short by a few minutes. If you are running early, feel free to text me to see if I can take you sooner.
  • We would like to avoid using the lobby as much as possible. Most scheduling and payment will now occur in the treatment room.
  • It is best if you come to your appointment alone and not have people waiting for you during your massage.
  • I will gladly accept cash and checks during this time, but I will not offer change for cash. Please plan ahead and bring exact change. Credit cards will be accepted in a touch-less checkout process. Venmo is a great touch-less way to pay without fees.

What should you do if you are sick and you have an upcoming appointment?

At this point, it is best to reschedule your appointment and consult a physician if you are not feeling well. If you have been cleared by your doctor to seek massage because you are not contagious, I will be happy to get you on the schedule. You will not be penalized for the cancellation, even at the last minute.

I will also reserve the right to cancel appointments at the last minute if I find myself falling ill or if I learn that have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19. I will seek a doctor's advice before returning back to work.

If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 within two weeks after your appointment, please let me know ASAP. If approached by contract tracing, please tell them that you have been to see me for massage-and that we both wore masks/face coverings. This may help them to decide against closing my business and putting myself and other clients on self isolation.  At the very least, it will help improve data on the safety of massage therapy. With all the precautions we are taking, it would be highly unlikely that myself or other clients could become infected, but I want to be sure I am taking appropriate action as directed by the Department of Health and Human Services and CDC to reduce the spread of the virus.

What if you don't feel ready to come in for a massage?
That's ok! I understand.
I have recently completed my certification as a Personal Trainer! I am offering 30 minute private virtual stretching/strengthening appointments via Zoom. We will target your appointment to the body areas where you are experiencing discomfort to reduce pain and help you feel better. It's the next best thing to getting a massage!

If you are considered in the "high risk category," your decision to receive massage or not may need to start with a conversation with your healthcare provider. You should understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19. I want you to be aware of the risks involved so that you may give informed consent to receive massage. I will prioritize the first appointment every day for those individuals in high-risk categories.

The online scheduler is open and updated for the next 60 days. Please feel free to use that to schedule appointments or contact me via text at 919-247-3552 to schedule.
