There's some great events coming up that we've listed for you below.
Green Skills Traineeship - Cert I in Conservation & Land Management
Starts soon around Carindale and Murarrie! An information session and interviews are being held this Wednesday 28th August at B4C (Cnr Wright St & 1358 Old Cleveland Rd, Carindale) starting at 9am. Participants must attend on this day to be considered for the program. Any questions, please contact Sudhara on 0435 090 334 / SudharaA@belong.org.au
 

The current trainees will be graduating this Friday! We've been so impressed with the group and we look forward to congratulating them. You're welcome to come to the graduation ceremony this Friday. Contact Sudhara (above) for details.

Tshirts Reworked with Jane Milburn
Jane MilburnSaturday 31st August, 10am-12pm.
B4C Sustainability Centre, Carindale.

Upcycling advocate and slow clothing pioneer Jane Milburn returns to B4C for another Tshirts Reworked workshop. Get yourself a handy new creative skill and learn how to re-purpose shirts! Jane will demonstrate and assist you to refashion t-shirts into other items and take control of your fashion footprint! Light refreshments provided.
$25 per person. Bookings essential.

Barriers & Bridges - fauna movement solutions forum
Friday 6th September 9am.
Griffith University EcoCentre, 170 Kessels Rd, Nathan

For community groups, government, industry and residents. Featuring presentations and a panel discussion with audience Q&A. The MC is B4C President Mik Petter. Featuring Professor Darryl Jones from Griffith University, Bernadette May (Senior Environmental Planner in Green Infrastructure Networks) at Moreton Bay Regional Council and more. There will also be a display table there that we're currently seeking items for (pictures, maps etc). Please contact us to have something included. Sponsored by the Transurban Community Grant. $10 per person. Includes morning tea.

B4C Sustainability Centre Open Day - frogs!
Saturday 7th September, 9am-12pm.
At B4C Sustainability Centre, Cnr 1358 Old Cleveland Rd & Wright St (entrance off Wright St), Carindale.

At 9.30am there will be a presentation about frogs in our urban areas by Dr Ed Meyer. This will be followed by morning tea (gold coin donation / free for members). Also enjoy a tour of our outdoor classroom and native plant nursery. For those who are wanting to buy Boomerang Bags, jam etc, please note we are cash only. (no EFTPoS sorry).

Beenleigh Library, Crete St, Beenleigh.

Join wildlife carer and ecologist, Stefan Hattingh of B4C, as he talks about the habitat loss of local owls in urban areas, the impact of rat poison leading to their decline and the nest-box projects that are offering hope. Free but bookings required. Thanks to Logan City Council for running this free workshop series across council libraries.

Green Heart FairGreen Heart Fair
Sunday 8th September, 8am-2pm.
Carindale Recreation Reserve.

Brisbane City Council’s Green Heart Fair is Brisbane’s biggest free bi-annual community and sustainability festival, promoting innovative green living in a fun, family-friendly environment. The fair welcomes over 100 of Brisbane’s leading sustainability organisations, community groups, artisans, foodies, green-thumbs, conservationists, businesses and eco experts to share information and knowledge on how to live more sustainably. Planting at Gibson Island, Murarrie
Friday 27th September, 9am-11am.

Come join us, along with our industrial landcare partners, to add more plantings to the Gibson Island Rehabilitation Project. We'll also incorporate a quick clean-up of the area (bags & pickers provided). Morning tea provided. Please RSVP to b4c@bulimbacreek.org.au or at our office.
