A house to build and a date for dancing...because tearing up the dance floor is a perfect way to raise a roof!

On July 20, Raise the Roof celebrated a groundbreaking at 39 Elliott Street in New Haven, our sixteenth sponsored build. A groundbreaking marks a milestone in the work of our mission and is a perfect waypoint for expressing gratitude for the hundreds of individuals, groups, and businesses that found beautiful and sometimes unique ways to contribute to raising funds. Many have shared so that we all may experience the gift of standing with a family to help them build.

Remember that beautiful Saturday in June when the Shoreline community gathered at The Build at Bishop's? The walls that were framed that day along with the Message Walls where community members of all ages shared their good wishes are now in place at 39 Elliott Street.

And we have a house to help build!
Please join us at 39 Elliott Street and build with a friend or gather your church or civic group, your neighbors, friends, business colleagues, a school group, and others for a workday. Email us at contactus@raisetheroofct.org to find a date. Learn how to volunteer at www.raisetheroofct.org.
Raise the Roof is fond of saying that there are many ways to build a house. Last fall, the spectacular group of community leaders pictured below stepped onto the dance floor to lead the way in raising the funds that are sponsoring the build at 39 Elliott Street...and beyond. (Look back at what they did and savor their amazingness here.)

The past four years have taught us that the best way to raise a roof is to invite local stars and our Shoreline community to tear up the dance floor.

Plan to join us for our fifth annual...
