This G7, help us keep the focus on gender
The G7 is a collective of seven of the world's most industrialized and developed economies – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States – that come together to discuss important global economic, political, social, and security issues.

The next G7 Summit will be held this weekend (24-26 August) in Biarritz, France. And this year, France is focused on tackling the roots of inequality. That's great news for our community of advocates.

To ensure leaders use their power to drive progress for girls and women, President Macron's G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council (GEAC) – of which Women Deliver President/CEO Katja Iversen is a member – developed a package of recommendations, backed up by 79 inspiring laws.
Recommendations from the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Group
The GEAC’s message to the G7 and other world leaders is clear:

1) Ditch the gender discriminatory laws
2) Push progressive ones
3) Invest in implementation and women's orgs
4) Measure, treasure, and move from words to action

This is important if we want a healthier, wealthier, more peaceful world. All words matter, but words in legislation matter a little more.
