We have a wonderful group of volunteers who have been working on our annual BBQ since January. It takes a lot of work to put an event like this together... not just getting the caterer, the location, the entertainment, and on and on, but all of it. Colorado has 64 counties and all having their annual fundraiser this fall, so it takes a lot of being a "squeaky wheel" to get great Colorado women of distinction here — like Secretary of State Jena Griswold andUS Senate candidate Trish Zornio.
In order to keeping doing what needs to be done in 2020, we need to sell out this year's event. That's 300 folks, for those counting. In order to plan the right amount of food (so we don't waste anything) and the right number of tables and changes, I'm asking you to please buy your tickets now. You can get them online or pick them up at the Coffee Trader on Main Street in Montrose.
Cardboard Cory Arrives Tomorrow!
Since the real Senator Cory Gardner won't hold public meetings with constituents (640 days and counting), so (Cardboard) Cory wants to hear from YOU about the kind of leader Colorado needs — and deserves!
The Since U Been Gone Bus Tour is making its way around the state with #CardboardCory to build momentum for the 2020 elections and they are coming to Montrose on Thursday, August 22nd.
The rally will begin around 5:00 PM (when the bus arrives) on N. Selig Avenue, between 1st and 2nd Street. After the rally, enjoy happy hour with (Cardboard) Cory — including a taco bar — at Two Rascals Brewing on N. 1st Street. Hope you can make it!
Meet & Greet at Two Rascals
Mingle and learn with fellow Democrats when we get together at Two Rascals Brewing Company next Tuesday, August 27th at 5:30 PM. We'll have some hearty appetizers, a cash bar, and some fun door prizes. Our guest speaker will be Montrose Police Chief Blaine Hall who will talk about the challenge in providing increased public safety in our growing community.
Be sure to bring an unaffiliated voter or two with you so they can see for themselves that we are not your granddaddy's Democrats!
