I posted a new solo track that will be available to stream and to download for free, for a limited time, as a sneak peek of some new ideas that I'm working through. I've been thinking a lot about late-night music and sound, especially for playing while reading and writing. I'm increasingly conscious of the need to turn off the television and the computer and to put away my phone after a certain point at night. I've been discussing it, recently, with friends and band mates, some of whom have shared their favorite late-night music and some of whom have shared their own music with me. Similar to my synth recordings from the last two years, this track can be played at a lower volume, so that it has a proper balance with activities that require concentration. I have a good idea of the direction that I plan to take with this effort and I hope to post more recordings soon.... See link below. ANATOMY OF HABIT
Anatomy of Habit formed in Chicago in October 2008 and is composed of Alex Latus (guitar), Isidro Reyes (metal percussion), Skyler Rowe (drums), Mark Solotroff (vocals), and Sam Wagster (bass + lap steel). The band encompasses elements of doom metal, post-punk, death-rock, noise-rock, industrial, psychedelic, and shoegaze. The band's last album, "Ciphers + Axioms," was released by Relapse Records.
We spent Monday night in a very focused mode, wrapping up the last bit of structure of our new song, "The Importance of Risk." We plan to play it as many times as we can between now and our upcoming show with King Buffalo and Dead Feathers, so that it's ready to be debuted that night...

BLOODYMINDED
BLOODYMINDED is a heavy electronic band that was formed in New York, in 1995, after the dissolution of the pioneering American post-industrial noise group Intrinsic Action, which was founded by Mark Solotroff, in Chicago, in 1984. BLOODYMINDED’s live shows are exceptionally energetic and are characterized by physical engagement, layers of abrasive analog synthesizer, aggressive vocals, and abundant feedback. In a live context, BLOODYMINDED celebrate and deconstruct the rock and roll performance.

THE FORTIETH DAY
The Fortieth Day is the duo of Isidro Reyes and Mark Solotroff, both key players in the heavy-electronics outfit BLOODYMINDED, a band known for its aggressive and confrontational live shows. In The Fortieth Day, Reyes and Solotroff utilize guitar, bass, drum machine, and analog synthesizer to create epic, blackened, psychedelic-industrial drone soundscapes.
