Celebrating Milestones

This year Metro EDGE has been celebrating 10 years of impact and investment into the next generation of Sacramento. We are excited for EDGE916, a celebration capping off the Emerge Summit, to truly celebrate the anniversary and accomplishments of EDGE.

Earlier this summer, Charleen Floyd was hired as the Metro Chamber's Program Manager and will be helping to further the mission of the Metro Chamber Foundation's programs.

As we approach 2020, we are looking forward to celebrating the 35th year of Leadership Sacramento and the 10th year of Inspire Giving's grant-making program.

We appreciate your ongoing support and enthusiasm for our programs! There is no better time to be engaged with the Metro Chamber Foundation.

Thank you, and we hope to see you soon!

-Talia Kaufman, Andrea Ellinghouse, and Charleen Floyd

The 2020 application process is now open and closes on September 30. This is the only application cycle for the year, so don't miss out! Email Andrea Ellinghouse with any questions about LS 2020.

The 2019 Leadership Sacramento class is busy fundraising for their class project supporting Wind Youth Services! Join the 2019 Leadership Sacramento class for a happy hour and fundraiser on September 26 to learn more about their class project -- the renovation of the Common Ground Emergency Shelter. Tickets available!

Inspire Giving

Vote on the Priority Giving Area

Every year, Inspire Giving supports a local nonprofit with a $10,000 grant and in-kind services. The process to select the nonprofit is facilitated with a Request for Proposal (RFP) through the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, and ultimately voted on by Inspire Giving members and donors.

The past few years, there has been a priority giving area to narrow the scope of the RFP. New in 2019, we are asking our legacy members and donors to provide their feedback and insight on what giving area Inspire Giving should support. Don't miss your chance to get your vote in and create infrastructure for another year of impact.

Thousand Strong

Thank you to our employers!

Thousand Strong is now well into its third year of connecting Sacramento high school students with premier employers in the region. The program focuses on reaching young people in disadvantaged communities and exposing them to education and career opportunities they might otherwise miss. These experiences change lives, and that could not happen without the local business participation.

In order to create additional opportunities, we will continue to need employers to sign up. If you would like to participate in the program next year, please let the Thousand Strong team know

Leading EDGE:
Giuliano Kornberg

Leading EDGE is Metro EDGE's partial financial award for young professionals looking to attend Metro Chamber programs such as Cap-to-Cap and Study Mission. This year's scholarship has been awarded to Giuliano Kornberg.

"Participating in immersive experiences like Study Mission is incredibly important, as I think some of the best learning happens in different environments with other individuals equally committed to understanding what's happening in those locations. The lessons learned give perspective and inform alternative ways of thinking, and in this case, all in the name of making Sacramento better."

Emerge Emcee:
Verna Sulpizio

In the spirit of celebrating Metro EDGE's 10-year anniversary, founding EDGE member, Verna Sulpizio will be emceeing the event!
