The Bethany Beach area and surrounding communities are a buzz with excitement and anticipation of the arrival of the Very Important Families (VIFs) of 2019!!!!

It's almost time!

Operation SEAs The Day is a beach week event for veterans and their families. These wounded Veterans have gone from a battlefield, to a hospital then home. Please welcome those who are recovering from injuries sustained while serving our country, and their families, as they arrive in our community on Tuesday September 3, 2019 for the 7th annual Warrior Beach Week.

A Hero's Welcome

POSTER PAL:   On Tuesday, July 9, 16 and 23 several families came to the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach to create  posters to welcome our heroes to the beach.  We had many special guests including the First Lady of Tennessee – Maria Lee.  Maria came with her mom (who lives in Dagsboro), sister and nephew.  These posters will be lining the streets to the VFW as the families arrive to begin their week.  Then moved to line the streets on Friday night as the parade motorcade arrives at Bayside (more info on the parade below).

In Case You Missed it

Christopher Levi, an Alumni of OSTD 2018 appeared on Fox and Friends August 7th. Chris, is an Army veteran and was injured in Iraq in 2008. His injuries resulted in the loss of both his legs, and he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. We were honored to have Chris and his girlfriend Jennifer join us last year. They got engaged here on the beach, creating a memory that will last a lifetime. Chris is just one of many veterans our community honors during beach week. You can find his interview here.

Our Mission:
To organize and facilitate a beach week event for our wounded soldiers and their families as a means of showing our appreciation for their service and sacrifice. It is our hope that such a community-based gesture of support will be comforting and help ease their transition back into civilian life.
