In AGENDA #2, I’m going to talk about liberty… and why it’s important to realize Government is out of control.
Since the end of World War II, government has continued to grow at an unparalleled pace. In the process, it has taken over more and more of our lives, and put restraints on our freedoms.
As Ronald Reagan said, “As government expands, liberty contracts.”
Government has become so intrusive, I guarantee that you have experienced it, even if you’re not aware of it.
The worst part is that big government can be used as a weapon against anyone, anytime, for any reason. Without a restraint on government, the potential for harm is endless.
Consider, the government has grown so large that they now are actively:
- Attempting to limit political speech they don’t agree with.
- Wiretapping us more than ever before.
- Criminalizing more activities every year.
- Stripping the middle class of our economic potential through higher taxation.
- Grabbing more power by convincing us that they can protect us better than we can protect ourselves.
- Arbitrarily ensnaring, intentionally or not, almost any business or individual.
- Increasing unprecedented police and prosecutorial powers.
The purpose of the United States Constitution was not to protect the government from us, it was to protect us from the government. Its design was to be a constraint on government power and limit the the ability of the government from interfering in our lives.
Yet, politicians like Congressman Fitzpatrick continually vote for more interference in our lives. I will have more to say in an upcoming AGENDA about his voting record in Congress, which we document at https://fitzwatch.dropmark.com/686571
It’s time to push back in Bucks and Montgomery County by electing a Republican who will stand up for the traditional, founding, American value of liberty. It’s time to put the Government genie back in the bottle.
