A Few Minutes of Bliss
G-O-L-F. It's our favorite four-letter word this time of year and we have several ways for all you BarnRaisers to get involved in helping us raise BIG money in support of this year's charities including: Diabetes Will's Way, Global Orphan Foundation, Our Call Missions, and Project Alianza.

These non-profits are helping kids in amazing ways and we have three easy options for YOU to get involved.

1) For silent auction item donations, contact Deb Rigney at rigney98@sbcglobal.net.

2) For families or companies interested in becoming hole sponsors, contact Ken McKnight at kmcknigh@iupui.edu.

3) To make an online donation, click here to take part in our "Not Golfing; Just Giving!" fundraiser.

Our field of foursomes has sold out again. We look forward to seeing everyone on Sept. 16th and we really appreciate our title sponsors at IMI - Irving Materials, Inc.
In 2018, you helped BarnRaisers raise $20,000 to support the purchase of a playground for the kids at the Caye Caulker RC School in Belize. Earlier this summer, our team traveled there and took fun to a new level for the 340 children (K-8th grade) who call the only public school on the island home.

"The children were so excited we were there and they couldn't wait to help and play on their new equipment," said Deb Rigney. "The families on the island were so welcoming and happy about the playground too. We worked in some extreme heat, so we'd start at 6 a.m., go until 11 and then take a break and go back in the late afternoon. Our team worked really hard to get the job done."

Thanks to the install team and to all you BarnRaiser donors that helped make it happen. It's great to give these kids their own playground. Some funds were also used to support materials for a science and math lab.

Spotlight on Kathy Baumgardner

Hi. I'm Kathy and I've been a volunteer for BarnRaisers for the past five years. My heart for serving children falls right in line with the mission of BarnRaisers and my love for serving others - both locally and globally - is the cornerstone of our family.

My husband Jeff and I live in Bloomington, Ind. We've been married for 35 years and have two grown children Jessica (Scotty) and Ryan (Nichol). We are also the proud “Honey” and “Poppy” to our four amazing grandkids. Jeff and I are blessed to be semi-retired, able to travel and spend several months in Florida each year.

BarnRaisers is a fantastic group of volunteers that I'm humbled to serve with. We come together with excitement and determination to raise funds that better the lives of children, and our trips to serve in countries such as Haiti, Guatemala, India and Costa Rica have enriched my life abundantly.

Through the generosity of donors, we are able to enrich the lives of children through education, housing, clothing and much more.  However, there is nothing more touching then to love and to be loved by the children we meet along the way.

One of the things we do annually is our Bingo Night. It’s a lot of hard work and dedication, but it is so much fun to experience 350 like-minded people coming together to raise funds for the next group of children we will support. I tell folks, "come be a BarnRaiser for a night. you won’t regret it." By the way, our next Bingo Night is set for March 13th. Hope to see you there.

We're excited to have a new web site up that includes a project page featuring the local and global projects this community has helped us support over our existence. Click here to learn more and to see our new site.
