Another lovely day planned for market this week, come out and enjoy the bounty of all our local farms and shops.  We'll have plenty of samples at our booth, stop on by and say hello!
 
We are experiencing a problem with our email list, so please bear with me while I try to figure it out.  We will take pre-orders up until 2:00pm on Tuesday for anyone who would like to reserve a dish!

Beechcrest Farm will be there!  We have good looking pork rib sections as well as bone in and boneless loin chops. On the meat side in addition to steaks we have kebab meat, perfect for pairing with the peppers and onions you can get at the market now! See you Tuesday.

Eco Farm will be at market this week with mushrooms, onions, figs, pastured pork, butternut squash, Long Island cheese squash, Hubbard squash, okra, summer squash, and arugula.
 
Perry-winkle Farm
 
"To everything there is a season..."   And now it's out with potato season and in with pepper season here at Perry-winkle Farm.  We have sold the remainder of our crop (except what we plan to take on vacation) so we are quickly transitioning into being a pepper farm.  We have harvested a pile of beautiful bell peppers and other sweet varieties to enhance your late summer meals.  There will also be a selection of some spicier varieties.  We will have bags of arugula from a new planting, plenty of basil, more eggplant and winter squash along with our flavorful Sungold cherry tomatoes.
 
The flower department will have sunflower bunches and gomphrena (aka. globe amaranth) bunches, a bucket of zinnias along with mixed bouquets for your table.  And look for eggs from Michael's pastured hens.

Red Roots Farm will be at market this week with lots of peppers (Shishito frying peppers, sweet red Italian peppers, cubanelle, habanero, cayenne, fish peppers, and maybe a few others), plus butternut squash, cushaw squash, red and yellow onions, Yukon Gold potatoes, okra, and fresh basil.

Chatham EMGVs


This year we are pleased to have the Chatham County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers returning to market to answer all of your gardening questions. They will be attending this week, and the first and third Tuesday of every month, all through the market season. Talk to an EMG to get gardening advice, find out about the EMG Program and other Extension offerings, and pick up soil testing supplies.

Visit Beth and Lily at the Take & Eat Food Pantry donation station!  They collect and buy fresh food at the market for folks in need and deliver to the pantry by 6:30 every Tuesday.
