We roll into August with some exciting news and opportunities!

Regions4 at the HLPF 2019

Regions4 and regional governments' representatives attended the High-level Political Forum in New York last July. Regions4 Secretariat took part in several events bringing forward the voice and key role of regions for the localization of SDGs and implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Check out the highlights of these events and what is ahead at the SDGs Summit next 24-25 September.

UN Climate Action Summit 2019

The UN Climate Action Summit will be held on 23 September in New York. Regions4 is supporting regional commitments and initiatives to act on health and climate and to reduce greenhouse emissions by 2050, such as the Social and Political Drivers for Climate Action and the Mitigation action track. We encourage all members and other regions to take part and showcase your efforts.

Regions4 Session at the European Week of Regions and Cities

The session "European Regions and the 2030 Agenda: Towards a Community of Practice"  will take place on 9 October. The workshop aims to showcase EU regions actions for SDGs implementation and serve as an EU framework for collaboration under the Community of Practice European Regions4SDGs. Registration is open until 27 September.

Survey on Multi-level Governance for Adaptation

Regions4 in collaboration with BC3 has launched a survey on multi-level governance for adaptation. Inputs on good practices, common challenges and experiences will feed the Good Practices Guide to be presented during COP25 next December. Deadline for submissions is 31 August.

Regions4 at the ICFE 2019

The 9th Indonesian Climate Forum & Expo will take place on 5-8 September in Medan. The event aims to contribute to the acceleration of actions towards sustainable development in Asia, with a programme focused on the Nationally Determined Contributions implementation. Regions4 will participate in the event hosted by North Sumatra, Vice-President for Asia, "Save Mangrove, Save our House".

IAEG-SDG Open Consultation on 2020 Comprehensive Review

The Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goals Indicators (IAEG-SDGs) is conducting an open consultation on inputs from the global statistical community on a list of proposals to be included in the 2020 Comprehensive Review. Deadline for submitting inputs is 8 September.
