Connected Kingston August issue 
The focus of this issue is on the upcoming Champions Award Ceremony, please read the information below.
  
Over the past month we have had 20 new services listed on Connected Kingston which includes Tea and Treats, Death Cafe Kingston, Mind Floating Support Service, Mind Mental Health Parliament and Mind Drop-In Cafes.  Please go and checkout their services on the Connected Kingston website.

We are pleased to announce our new Connected Kingston Project Manager will be in post towards the end of September.  More details and an introduction will be in the next newsletter.

Champion Awards 
On Monday the 9th September the Mayor of Kingston will be presenting Connected Kingston Community Champions with their certificates and badges at the Mayor’s Parlour. Invitations will go out next week. 
 
Becoming a Community Champion involves-  1) Attending the Community Champions group training session 2) Completing the Healthy Conversations online MECC training  3) Making a referral or signposting to the Connected Kingston website (if you have signposted someone please could you fill out this form).

If you meet these requirements and would like to part of the award event please email us at info@connectedkingston.uk.  There is still time to complete any of these elements before the award ceremony. To complete the MECC training please click here
System update
A system update is taking place over the next two days – 22nd -23rd August.

During this time, the main site will be working as normal however for any organisations that have the referral option switched on, this will be disabled just for this time period.  This means that if your page ordinarily has a referral button it will not be visible on Thursday and Friday.

Users won't able to log in to the backend administration portal during this time period, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 
Events
Let's Get Digital! The Art of the Possible!

The Royal Borough of Kingston Council  is holding an event on digital innovation on 5th September at the Everyday Church Kingston. The event  aims to bring together both councils and their partner organisations to support the sharing of knowledge and enable greater collaboration with other local authorities, partner organisations and the communities of Kingston and Sutton.

There will be presentations including one on Connected Kingston.  Roundtable discussions will cover topics such as digital transformation, assisted living, digital inclusion and the Internet of Things. To find out more please visit the Evenbrite page.

Next provider workshop

Book on to find out about new features, add or improve service / activity listings, switch on referrals or make any changes you need to relating to organisational / service administrator access.  

This will be a practical session - bring a laptop, service information, logos, images and videos and we'll be on hand to help with updates.  (Please let us know if you don't have a laptop and we can bring some spares).

Training updates
We are in the process of updating our training materials and in addition to the Champions training we will be offering signposting training to enable groups and their service users to make the best use of Connected Kingston.
