Everyone loves a good story - stories that make us laugh, stories that make us cry, stories that make us feel some sort of pull. Good marketing is just like telling a story. When you're trying to get your product into the hands of the consumer, you have to take them on a journey. You have to tell them why your product exists, why they need it, and how they can get their hands on it as soon as possible. And you must tell that story as quickly and creatively as possible. Think about your favorite ad, be it print, digital, or something in between. Why do you remember it? What made it successful? I can tell you: the person or team who created it was able to both effectively tell you a story and affect you somehow. A good product will sell no matter what, but your customer wants something in exchange: to be entertained.
