Typeface
Space Mono is a monospace typeface that comes in Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic cuts. Its name inverts its typographic classification—mono-spaced, space-mono. Yay, puns! I highly recommend reading the case study from Colophon Foundry about its design and origin.
Magazine
Intercom's product design team started a site sharing case studies, their process, resources, blog posts, and opportunities to join their team. I'm a big fan of everything they do, especially their use of illustration.
Tool
Colorable is a dope color contrast tester that lets you edit and see a color combination of text and background and in real-time. It also tells you if the combo passes the WCAG requirements so that your content is more accessible.
Cool Stuff
Generate fancy text that works (almost) everywhere using Unicode. This tool converts regular text into Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols that appear readable when put together. These characters were added to Unicode primarily for mathematicians to write equations. But now you can use them to look cool on your social media posts or profile name.
Examples: 𝕳𝖔𝖑𝖆, 🅷🅾🅻🅰, ℋℴ𝓁𝒶, Ⓗⓞⓛⓐ.
Tools
Rich testing offers an all-in-one UX testing to measure attitudes, collect feedback, and quantify the user experience at the design stage. I have to admit that I haven't used this new feature but looks pretty interesting.
Inspiration
Darkshapes is a curated collection of images gathered from various sources. The themes expressed on this site focus on art, design, architecture, photography, and fashion. Lots of pools, teal, palms, sunsets, and old electronics.
Photography
A gallery of beautiful photos from Poland through the lens of French/Swiss photographer Bruno Barbey. The pictures are clearly of a particular theme, so I don't think they accurately represent how Poland looked in the '80s, but they're still beautiful.
Old But Gold
This article talks about the different excuses we make to avoid listening to the people we design for. It's a 5-year old article that feels relevant to this day. Braden Kowitz lists different myths followed by their reality. I have to admit that I still make some of these mistakes. This read is an excellent reminder to do a better job!
