1. Establish Reasonable Expectations. Talk to your children about your expectations regarding his homework, household chores and keeping his room clean. To eliminate boredom involve your child in the activities he likes. Active kids become active and productive adults. When kids know what is expected of them and how to do these things, life around the home just goes more smoothly.
    
2. Not A Morning Person. If you are not a morning person do a little bit of preparation at the night before. Ask each child to help with lunches, snacks, clothes and everything else needed for the next day. Make sure each child has an alarm clock and is responsible for his waking up on time.
    
3. Time to Get organized! Pull everything out of his or her closet. Sort the items that belong together: clothes, shoes, books and toys. Ask him to try on the clothes to make sure they fit. Get two big boxes and mark them: Donate, and Keep. Provide a laundry hamper and garbage can for your child's room. Write down the laundry and garbage day. Help your child to maintain his or her room by having him or her make the bed every morning and putting the dirty laundry in the hamper. Once the room is organized and cleaned, it will take him or her three to five minutes to keep it clean and tidy.
