Premier XV
Winning the last time we faced Woodville in Prems, AURugby came out knowing that the win was there for the taking. Similar to the Reserves, the first 10 minutes had AURugby not quite as composed as they should be but soon settled. The forwards doing their job of methodically working the ball up the field with particular mention Jordan, Simon, and Bron clearing the rucks as well as Max who also stood out with some exceptional tackling. The set piece was no different with AURugby holdinmg their own in the scrum and winning most lineouts with the Jump from Nathan. the backs controlled by the 9 - 10 combo Silby and Mooney had clean ball sent out to Jack and Owen who both kept Woodville on their back foot. Well done on the great win

Reserve XV
AURugby were ready for a game of rugby but didn't come out with the same fight that their opposition had. Giving away several tries early in the first half had AURugby fighting to even stay in the game. With composure eventually settling in, a glimmer of hope came from the hard work of a team try finished by Ricki which had the score at 7 - 26. However, we were unable to bring the game back under our control. With a second chance next Sunday against Elizabeth, a team we beat only a week ago, the ressies still very much have a chance take the flag.

"Whilst we may have lost the U12s preliminary final on Sunday, the team were winners due to the fact that they made the U12 finals for the first time in the history of the Club.
Unfortunately in the first 10 minutes, even though we defended stoutly, we were put under that much pressure by Brighton, that we gave away too many penalties which in turn gave Brighton easy meters and put us on the back foot allowing three well worked tries by the opposition.
In the second half, the penalty count evened out and we were able to control the ball for long periods but never really penetrating the opposition's defense.
I am immensely proud of the U12s team who played their hearts' out all season and certainly deserved a place in the preliminary finals".

Congratulations to our Under 12s on an amazing season. Although Sunday didn't go as we had hoped, the club is proud of all your achievements. We look forward to seeing all of you back in black for the 2020 season to take it one step further
U12s Regionals
