Online Privacy Basics

Protecting your privacy online is something everyone should know about, and know how to do, especially in the age of invasive ad-driven online services and behind-the-scenes tracking.

Linux InstallFest - Saturday, September 21
Ever wanted to install a Linux-based operating system on your old computer? Come out to Free Geek's event on Sept 21 and, with the help of our volunteers, do it yourself!

Swap, Drop, & Shop - Sunday, October 6 @ Evergreen Brickworks
Reduce your waste, contribute to the sharing economy, grab a bite from the Local Food Court and connect with your community. Bring items to be "swapped" or bring your e-waste and we’ll ensure that your e-waste is disposed responsibly, safely, and ethically!

Free Geek continues to run workshops at various Toronto Public Library (TPL) branches on computer hardware and disassembly. Check out the TPL website to learn when the next workshop will be held.

Thanks to everyone supporting Free Geek Toronto we were able to re-start our Hardware Grant program. So far we've donated 5 computers in 2019, including one to the Toronto Tool Library's Makerspace.

Currently, we're limiting grants to small community non-profits/grassroots organizations.
