This week, the Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism scrutinises how safe our hospitals really are in the last piece of our two-part series

Plus, we meet Rosaline 'Eagle Eye' Daniel in this instalment of #HowWeWork
This week, the Gauteng health department released the grainy blue CCTV images of a woman abducting a baby from a provincial health facility. The infant was eventually found but it's just the latest crime to hit the places in which we're supposed to heal and be healed.

This week, we conclude our two-part series on crime and medicine as Nelisiwe Msomi takes a look at security in hospitals — or rather the lack thereof.

“Health workers themselves are on the first line of attack ... our greatest fear is that one night or day, management would arrive at a hospital and find that all nurses have been hacked to death with no clue of what had happened.”

ICYMI, check out part one as we take you on the ride of a lifetime and go where even EMS fear to tread in Johannesburg.

Listen to the podcast here:

Paul McNally rides along with paramedic Maria Mazibuko who talks of bogus emergency calls that lure emergency health workers into traps where robbers lay in wait.
