Street Art Festival kicks off August 15-17 

Mpls Downtown Improvement District and Hennepin Theatre Trust are pleased to present the first annual Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival - the new signature downtown art experience for residents and visitors that celebrates street art in all its forms. Join us for an inclusive, vibrant and unforgettable experience in the heart of downtown Mpls.

This free festival brings together artists from the worlds of visual, performing, craft, and food arts and unleashes them together for the first time onto the streets of downtown for all to enjoy. Festival-goers will relish in several arts-centered experiences, including a two-block long series of chalk art installations, a short film showcase, live performances, outdoor craft market, food and beverage, and more #OnNicollet and Hennepin.

Makers Market returns August 14

Take a break #OnNicollet tomorrow to shop local artisans downtown. From handmade pottery by Danny Bruckbauer to gifts from Dragonflies and Cards, the options are endless. Make the Makers Market your lunchtime tradition twice a month, open from 10:30a-2:30p between 6th and 8th streets.

Street Show competition winners announced

Congratulations Nathaniel Harris and Buck It Up Brass, winners of the first ever Street Show competition. Catch them this week at the Downtown Street Art Festival. Nathaniel Harris plays the Festival Kick-off, August 15, 8:30p and Buck it up Brass opens for Malamanya, August 16, 4p.
