Congratulations to Hotel Doolin and the Cork International Hotel who have been shortlisted in the 2019 Awards - against substantial competition.  These are but two of our members who are fully committed to embedding sustainability as a core business strategy. Dalata were also shortlisted. Crowe Ireland Hotel Survey
The 2019 Hotel Survey noted that Utility Costs grew by 7.7% - the first cost-over-revenue increase in utilities since 2012.  Summary Here.
With water charges rising from 2020, see below, and increasing carbon taxes it is even more important now for businesses to take control of their energy and start monitoring and managing it properly.  Green Hospitality notes that hotels can typically reduce energy costs by between 20-50%.  Ask yourself - who is actually responsible for your utility costs?  Generally everyone is because everyone uses energy. Find out how to change this and make individual managers responsible. Contact Green Hospitality for support.

Plastic Smart - a GREENMark
Are you serious about minimising single use plastics?  Or are you more interested in the PR message when you remove plastic straws?  We have a wide-ranging programme that addresses this scourge with the objective to eliminate single use consumer facing plastics from your business.  If you want to make a real difference join up now.  More info here

Water Charges to increase by up to 100% from May 2020
